The battle to be the video editor for your iPhone continues with the debut today of Cinefy at CES. An app that promises to bring 'Hollywood-style' visual and audio effects to your phone, Cinefy comes loaded with over 50 effects to add to your movies as well as a library of copyright cleared songs.
Said Dan Hellerman, managing director of Chairseven which is launching Cinefy, "Cinefy is about stretching the limit of a persons creativity to create incredible, memorable movies. We are seeing people allowing artificial intelligence to create movies out of clips they have shot themselves. It is taking the creativity, and fun out of creating movies. Cinefy changes that, and when users are done crafting their masterpiece, they can share it with the world via Facebook, Vimeo or YouTube."
I'm looking forward to Cinfefy but I'll have to disagree on one point with Mr. Hellerman. I think the new suite of A.I. video editing apps such as Vidify and Magisto are actually injecting fun into movie creation by helping you manage and mold all the video you can now capture with your phones. That being said, I can't wait to use it to see if Cinefy does more than just slap pre-rendered effects on your home movies. It's currently in private beta, but you can sign up now at Cinfey's site to be sure to get it when it's publicly available.
